Summer Art Camp Highlights

Some summers leave behind more than sunny memories. This one left us with paint-splashed aprons, proud smiles, new friendships, and a play area that has already changed the feel of our days.

Our summer art camps brought children together to make, explore, experiment, and enjoy the kind of creative freedom that works best when there is plenty of space and encouragement. From the first morning warm-ups to the final displays of work, the camps had a lovely sense of energy.

Alongside the camps, we were delighted to open our new fenced in play area, giving children a safer, more clearly defined outdoor space for movement, games, fresh air, and creative play. It has quickly become part of our daily rhythm, and we are excited to share how both the camps and the new space have made this summer feel so special.

Each camp day balanced guided activities with moments for children to make their own choices. That mix worked beautifully. Some children loved following a step-by-step project and seeing how each stage came together. Others preferred to take an idea in a new direction, adding extra details, changing colours, or turning one project into something completely their own.

We wanted the camps to feel welcoming from the moment children arrived. That meant setting a steady pace, keeping instructions clear, and giving children enough time to settle before moving into the main activity. Some children were ready to jump straight in. Others needed to watch first, ask a few questions, or begin with something familiar.

This summer also brought a big change outdoors: our new fenced in play area.

The new space has already made a real difference to the way children move through the day. It gives us a defined outdoor area where children can play, pause, chat, stretch their legs, and enjoy fresh air between creative sessions.

A good outdoor space supports far more than running around. It gives children a change of scene. It helps reset energy levels. It creates room for imaginative games, quiet conversations, and those little bursts of movement that make it easier to return indoors ready to focus again.

The fenced area has been especially useful during camp days because it gives clear boundaries. Children understand where the play space begins and ends, and adults can supervise more easily. That clarity helps everyone relax into the routine.

A summer camp only works when families, children, and staff all bring care to it. We are grateful to everyone who joined us, supported the camps, asked about the projects, admired the finished work, and shared in the excitement of the new outdoor space.
